Easter weekend saw another edition of the ever-popular Welsh Masters at The David Broome Event Centre. We were absolutely delighted with the results from our team of young horses who impressed throughout the 4 day show.
Pippa took a weekend off from her eventing calendar which proved to be very worthwhile when Billy Marmite (Billy Mexico x Vechta), Billy Chill (Billy Mexico x Vechta) and Billy Sarafina (Tangelo x Billy Congo) all jumping treble clear in the Big Star 6 year old Championship. Also qualifying for the National final by jumping treble clear were Billy Pablo (Billy Congo x Kroongraaf) ridden by William and Billy York (Cevin Z x Emilion) ridden by Luke Hill.
Billy Pablo and Billy York were to feature again before the weekend was over when they finished 4th and 5th respectively in the 6 Year Old Final, being joined in the lineup by stable mate Rainflakes (Cevin Z x Kannan) ridden by Josh Hutchins.
The 8 year old Billy Kodak (Billy Mexico x Vechta) and William jumped consistently well all weekend and were rewarded with 3rd place in a very competitive 7 & 8 Year Old Final.
Another to really impress during the show was the 9 year old mare Billy Ring (Billy Congo x Kannan). She has continued to improve with Josh Hutchins all year and jumped a fantastic double clear for 4th in the 1.40m Grand Prix qualifier following up with a super clear in the Grand Prix itself.
The highlight of the show was undoubtedly watching Luke Hill and the fantastic mare Billy Bakewell (Billy Um Bongo x Jazz) win the 5 Year Old Final. She got better and better with all 3 rounds of the class and it was super to see all of Luke’s hard work pay off!

Great work from the entire team yet again and now time for some of our young horses to have well deserved holiday in the field.
