The team travelled to Seville in Spain for 2 weeks jumping at Carmona and 2 weeks in Pineda. The tour was a great success and all the horses posted fantastic results.
William took 3 lovely 7 year olds Billy Galleon (Billy Congo x Nimmerdor) who was 2nd in the 7 year old Grand Prix in Pineda and Billy Take That (Billy Mexico x Wellington) who showed great consistency by jumped 9 clear rounds from 11 starts. Billy Hood (Tangelo x Rich Rebel) also had a great tour and came home with some great rounds to start the year including picking up a 2nd and a 3rd.
Lucy and her 3 7 year olds showed real class with Billy Mozette (Tangelo x Billy Congo) and Billy Nala (Billy Mexico x Billy Congo) filling the top 2 spots in the 7 year old Grand Prix in Carmona. Mozette also picked up another win and then finished 3rd in the 7 year old Grand Prix in Pineda. Billy Spiral (Tangelo x Billy Mexico) was her usual outstanding self with a win and 2 2nd places in Carmona and a win, a 2nd and 2 3rd placings in Pineda!
Billy McCain (Cevin Z x Cruising) and William also enjoyed great success following on from a short break after their trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi taking a win in the 1.45m World Ranking class and being so unlucky to be runner up 2 weeks running in the Grand Prix’s of Carmona and then Pineda – I guess we can’t really be disappointed though!
Lucy had Billy Kodak (Billy Mexico x Vechta) and Emmylou (Billy Mexico x Lupin Z) with her for the bigger classes – the lovely 8 year old Billy Kodak enjoyed his first outing of the year with a win and a 2nd in the 1.40m classes. Emmylou had an amazing tour winning 2 classes and also being 2nd 3 times in the 1.40m classes – the highlight came when winning the 1.40m Grand Prix!
It was also great to have Julie Slade on tour with us, making her trip very worthwhile with the diminutive Billy Gogo (Billy Mexico x La Poco) winning a grand total of 4 classes! Julie and Gogo didn’t stop there, they also had a 2nd and 2 3rd’s in the small tour classes.
As always a big thanks to our team who kept the horses looking fantastic throughout our time in Spain, none of these successes would happen without you guys! We were delighted with all the horses and it was a real pleasure to visit these 2 new shows that have been added to the international calendar – we look forward to going back in 2020!
