Billy Picador

It was wonderful to see 3 Billy Stud horses reach the final of the prestigious Foxhunter final at Horse of the Year Show 2019 and to make it even better all 3 finished in the prizes!

Shane O’Reilly took over the reins of Billy take That (Billy Mexico x Wellington) for the evening and they started the class off for us with an incredibly unfortunate 1 down.

Billy Spiral (Tangelo x Billy Mexico) and Pippa were next to go for the team and they again had the unluckiest of fences down.

Our final hopes for the class lay with Pippa’s second ride Billy Picador (Billy Mexico x Animo) and following a successful summer campaign in the age classes the pair duly returned an immaculate clear. With 6 through to the jump off, Pippa was in the enviable position of being last to go – they once again returned a clear just behind the leader for a 2nd place finish!

The least 2 years has seen horses from The Billy Stud come 2nd in the Foxhunter final (Lucy Townley and Billy Tennessee were the runners up in 2018) – lets see what 2020 has in store for us!!!
