What a superb day of Sport at Coombelands Equestrian yesterday! The Billy Stud Bred horses were out in force and on form, Winning every age class and doing a 1-2-3 twice!
We started the day with four lovely clears in the 1.15m Equitogs warm-up class from Billy Caravaggio, Billy Cassidy, Billy Pumba and Billy Pronto.
Then we were delighted to watch good friend Jess Burke win the very competitive 5YO Championship on the Arion Stud’s Billy Caspin(Auction-bought as a 3YO). Not far behind in a fast jump-off was the ever-consistent Billy Mojito in 5th (one of Lizzie Bunn’s Auction purchases) ridden by Lucy, who was also 6th on Billy At Last
We couldn’t have asked for a better result in the 6YO Championship, with Lottie and Lucy putting in speedy performances to beat the boss! Lottie won on a reasonably new ride Billy Dynamite, and Lucy was 2nd on her father Edward Bunn’s Auction-bought Billy Adorable. William finished the podium on Billy Hound Dog and also jumped a beautiful clear in the first round on Billy Pronto.
Jess took victory in the 7YOs as well on Billy Rivera, a lovely mare that has stepped up very well recently. Pippa sped into 2nd on another one of Lizzie Bunns Auction-bought horses Billy Mufasa, these two girls make a fantastic team. And finally, Lottie on Billy Be Great rounded off the podium in 3rd, another great result to add to their form recently.
To finish off an already incredibly successful day Pippa and Morten Aasen’s Tarzan XII won the 1.40m Grand Prix!
We couldn’t be prouder of all the young horses who performed so well and learnt a lot around Ben Townley’s brilliantly designed courses. A huge thank you goes to the Coombelands team for creating and executing a top-class event and league for us all to compete in.
